Tourism in Devon

Believe it or not, there are resort towns on England's southern coast, Exmouth included, which boast with sumptuous sub-tropical vegetation and average summer temperatures of around 25°. With its mild climate and Mediterranean-style architecture, it is hardly surprising that Exmouth is regarded by the English as part of their very own "Riviera"!

Devon scenery has been an inspiration for many writers - Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Thomas Hardy. One of Sherlock Holmes' mysteries was set here; indeed, if you take a trip out to Dartmoor, you cannot fail to be impressed by the alluring atmosphere and stunning scenery.
