English in Malta, St. Paul's Island

History of St. Paul's Island

St. Paul's Island is a flat uninhibited islet near St. Paul's Bay on the north of Malta. It is believed that in year 60 St. Paul and his followers got shipwrecked on this tiny island, thus introducing Christian religion to Maltese islands. He stayed in Malta for some months and being warmly welcomed by Maltese people, he preached Christianity hiding from Romans.
